Airfield Information

Tandem Skydive

When?

Please refer to your letter of confirmation for details of the date of your jump. If you are jumping on a Saturday or Sunday you should arrive at the airfield no later than 8:30am. Please be prompt.

Weather

The television and radio weather forecasts on the evening before your jump should give you a good indication of the conditions for the following day. However due to weather conditions being very unpredictable, you are still advised to go down to the airfield on the morning of your jump as conditions can improve quickly, enabling you to complete your jump

Where?

Above is a map to the airfield Skydive St Andrews is located at Fife Airport to the south west of Glenrothes. Please refer to the map for directions or for sat-nav users Post Code KY6 2SZ.

What do I wear?

Warm comfortable clothes including trainers and a warm pair of gloves. Lots of thin layers are better than just one thick layer. A helmets and jump suit will be provided.

Procedure

First there will be a 20-30 minute briefing session on what equipment you will be using, how to board the aircraft and most importantly how to exit the aircraft in a stable face-to-earth position. The parachute centre will then endeavour to complete your jump as quickly as possible but you should realise that with lots of other people waiting to jump and factors outside of their control such as weather and air traffic control, delays are going to be inevitable. Our advice is take something to read, lots to eat and don't expect to get back home until sometime in the evening.

Facilities

Snacks and drinks are available on site as well as toilet facilities.

Photography

A freefall cameraman may be available on the day to video your jump. Please ask for details and prices on arrival at the airfield.

Accommodation

Please contact the airfield on 0845 189 5865 as B&B's are available locally.

Finally

You are welcome to bring friends and family to watch, but please remember, facilities at airfields are fairly basic and young children may quickly become bored. Please note no dogs are permitted on site. Try not to be too nervous on the day; there will be many other people trying parachuting for the very first time and the more you relax the more you will enjoy it!

If you are lost or are going to be late please call the airfield on 0845 189 5865
